Be just as you are.

“Its still the same old love story, a fight for love and glory”

I know I always fumble out the right words, but this time I feel like I’ve got none.  None too big, small, wide, perfect or right enough to describe exactly how it felt to stand on the edge of Ryan and Elizabeth’s day.  The day unfolded like a dream, curls pinned, watches snapped all leading up to the moment where they stood, hand in hand declaring those age old vows of love past forever.

And their love, it will last forever.  It was in the quiet of her whisper at the end of the altar, the soft kiss he laid on her shoulder, wrapped between the chords of Billie Holiday and echoed through the grins and tears of the people who know them best.

How unimaginably lucky I have been to know you, for me, as someone who so wholeheartedly hopes and believes in love you have been a joy to photograph.  A million thank yous would not be enough to show how happy I’ve been that you two took a leap with me.  I hope your honeymoon in London is going fantastic (Tate Museum is a must!) and can’t wait to hear all your stories when you get back.  xoxo Camille.

Had to post this picture, I loved it way too much, and Carly is just about one of my favorite people ever.  She’s newly engaged and her photos will be splashed here in a couple weeks time!

Here’s Payton and Brighton.  Brighton is Sarah’s (Maid of Honour) son, and clearly the cutest kid alive.  Glasses?  And a kilt?  My head nearly exploded.

“If ever there’s an answer, it’s more love”

Every time I shoot a wedding I fall more and more in love with this job, every pore in my body gasping in exuberant happiness.  I can’t get enough, not of the flowers, or the parents proud speeches, the best man’s funny jokes, the small children dancing, the hands clasped at the altar, family ties so tangible on this one day you feel like you can reach out and touch them.  The romantic part of my heart overflows with complete contentment, it becomes so full it’s hard not to cry when the Father of the groom chokes up, or when they dance their first dance, or kiss after the first ‘I Do’ of their new lives together.

Their wedding was beautiful, simple, understated, perfect.  I was so happy to be a part of the day with Jenn, so grateful at having a friendship with someone in this industry, tales of the trade passed across ribs and mashed potatoes.  I cannot wait to see all of Jenn’s images, and can’t wait to draft through all of mine, all this happiness, and I get to do it again next weekend.  Here’s to life, in all it’s fabulousness, hope everyones long weekend was as totally awesome as mine.

“And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know, you realize that life goes fast, it’s hard to make the good things last.”

It’s hard to say the kind of friend Morgan is, I’ve been sitting here for the entire afternoon editing through photos, trying to think of the right words, perfect words to describe not just her, but who she is to me.  But I think it’s a two poster.

I think its something that’s hard to be spoken, hard to be written.  Something that is just there, like how we can finish the end threads of each others thoughts, or how our history is so tightly intertwined, how we can make each other laugh, or feel better when the other cries.  Small things, big things, everything.

I took her out on the town, formerly known as Bowness Park and shot some photographs that I’m really proud of, here’s a sneak shot of my screen for the past two  hours, I’ll be back tomorrow with all the shots, and maybe some more eloquence that is the brilliance of Morgan Rae Burke.

“All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go. I’m standin’ here outside your door, I hate to wake you up to say goodbye”

So, turns out I resemble a slight tornado the week before vacation.  I know, I’m taking another one.  This time it’s off to Vancouver, I’ve got SO much stuff planned my head is already bursting over it all.

I leave tonight, and I’m not back until next Monday, I’m going to try to swing by here if I get a chance, but I might be stuck under wedding preparations and sunny days.  We’re in town for my sort-of-step-cousin-ishes Erin’s wedding.  To say we’ve been waiting for this a long time is an understatment, if you take a wee gander at that there screen shot from my flight you’ll realize I booked this flight seven months ago.  Well, dresses have been altered, shoes have been bought, bags have been packed and the day is FINALLY here.

I cannot say HOW excited and happy I am for this trip.  I’m second shooting a wedding with the wonderfully fabulous Jamie Delaine on Saturday and then Sunday is Erin’s big day, where I’ll poke my camera out in between grabbing a kleenex and throwing confetti ;) the rest of my time will be spent soaking up days with my bestest of friends, Morgan.  I’ve managed to finagle her into a photoshoot and already can’t wait to edit the pictures and show her off here!

Hope everyone else has a fantastic weekend!
